Who is responsible

This website is run by Ricardo Alves, an independent photographer based in Portugal. For anything about your data, write to hello@ricardo-alves.com.

What data I collect and why

Contact form. If you use the form, I receive your first name, last name, email address, subject and message. I use them only to reply to you. The legal basis is taking steps at your request and my legitimate interest in answering messages sent to me (GDPR, Article 6(1)(b) and (f)).

Email. If you write to me directly by email, I receive your address and what you send, and use it in the same way.

Technical data. Like any website, the hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and keep the site secure.

Cookies and third parties

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. The fonts and scripts are served from this site itself, so visiting it does not load anything from other companies. The link to Instagram only takes you there when you click it, and from that point Instagram’s own policy applies.

Who receives your data

  • Netlify, Inc., which hosts the website and handles the contact form. Your data may be processed outside the European Union, under the safeguards the GDPR requires.
  • My email provider (Amen.pt, which also hosts the domain), which delivers the form notifications and messages to me.

I do not sell your data and do not use it for marketing.

How long I keep it

I keep messages only as long as needed to answer you and follow up, and delete them within 12 months, unless a longer period is needed (for example, an ongoing project).

Your rights

You can ask me for access to your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy of it. Write to hello@ricardo-alves.com. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD (www.cnpd.pt).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date.
